It’s time to register for the Mark K. Johnston Memorial Golf Tournament!

Spring is officially here and we know a lot of golfers are anxious to get back out on the course!

We invite you to register for our event HERE.

Our goal is to raise $25k to test a promising, new model for seniors to re-engage with their communities.

Delivering traditional public transit in rural areas is extremely challenging and costly. Your support will help build the foundation for a new transportation method for older Mainers. It’s called micro-transit and it uses fuel-efficient vans to provide on-demand rides, similar to Uber or a taxi service.

With this model, seniors call and request a ride to go shopping or use other local services, with fares that are more affordable than commercial ride services. Communities across the country have demonstrated that this can be a highly successful option compared to traditional public transit in rural areas.

Transportation is a key component of economic growth. You can help make this new model a reality for more seniors in our rural communities. Let’s work together to help older Mainers re-engage with everything the community has to offer. And you can promote your business at the same time!

Our tournament continues to be held in Mark Johnston’s memory. He was our Chief Financial Officer for more than 20 years and was a staunch supporter of Community Action. Mark’s legacy lives on at KVCAP. We know he would be the biggest cheerleader for this new, innovative program for older Mainers!
