What You’ll Learn
Students gain valuable knowledge about the home buying process in a neutral environment. Students who successfully complete the course will earn the opportunity to receive a qualifying certificate that shows they may be eligible for certain first-time homebuyer loan products or government lending programs-valid for two years.
Classes cover how to:
- Budget for a home purchase
- Prepare for expected costs during the home buying process
- Select and work with reputable industry professionals
- Understand credit and lending
- Prepare for expected costs after becoming a homeowner
- Protect your investment over the long term
Class Options:
In Person
This is an 8 hour, in-person class. The cost is $30.00 per person. Effective January 1, classes will be $45 per person.

Online
Would you like to take at your own pace? We offer two options. Talk to your lender to find out which course fits your mortgage requirements.
ehomeAmerica
ehomeAmerica is an online self-navigated course, which you can take at your own convenience. It offers more flexibility in completing the homebuyer course. It is a national platform and costs $99 per person. It includes a phone conference of up to 60 minutes following the web modules to certify the course has been completed. This course meets the educational requirements for the Advantage Grant and MaineHousing loans.

Framework
Framework meets the requirements for Fannie Mae HomeReady mortgages. You can complete the course online at your leisure and receive a certificate. This course costs $75 per person.
