Hight Family Early Learning Center

The Hight Family Early Learning Center, a wing of the new Margaret Chase Smith Community School, provides early care and education to families in the greater Skowhegan area.  Infant/Toddler rooms offer full-day, full-year child care for children ages 6 weeks to three years. Preschool classrooms will provide early education for the Margaret Chase Smith Community School.

This unique new school design allows children to stay in one building from 6 weeks of age through 5th grade, providing continuity and enhanced education opportunities.

Infant/Toddler rooms

The Hight Family Early Learning Center opened its doors to Infants and Toddlers on Monday, August 18thEnroll your child today!

Incorporating Early Head Start philosophies, Infant/Toddler rooms offer full-day, full-year care to children 6 weeks to age 3.  Each classroom provides care for up to 8 children with 3 highly qualified teachers per room.  Healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided.

 Preschool rooms

Preschool rooms, featuring Head Start philosophies, offer three options:

  • School-day, school-year
  • Full-day, full-year
  • Summer programming

Preschool is available for children ages 3-5 with 16 children and 3 highly qualified teachers in each room.  Healthy meals and snacks are provided.
