Additional support now available!
Van, volunteer driver and mileage reimbursement support is available to people going to cancer treatment and support services.
If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with cancer and lives in Kennebec or Somerset County, KVCAP Transportation Services can help ease some of the burden and stress of accessing quality cancer treatment.
With funding provided by the John T. Gorman Foundation, KVCAP can provide transportation assistance, including mileage reimbursement, for medical treatment of cancer, including chemotherapy, radiation, support groups and more. Services include transportation using lift accessible vans and buses, volunteer drivers in private cars, or mileage reimbursement for self or family transport.
Drivers can pick individuals up at their home and bring them to treatment, or any service that is part of their treatment. KVCAP can also provide mileage reimbursement of 21 cents per mile for those who can transport themselves or have a friend or family member that can transport them. Eligibility for this program is not based on income. You are eligible if you have a cancer diagnosis and live in Kennebec or Somerset County.
