Somerset Explorer/Move More Kids Transit Program

An expanded summer public transit service serving lower Somerset County.

The Move More Kids summer transit program was in service from June 20 to August 26, 2016.  Move More Kids is an expansion of Somerset Explorer services during the summer months and has been in operation for 8 years. The service operates two buses in the towns of Skowhegan. Madison, Anson, Norridgewock and Canaan, offers service from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Fares are $1.00 in-town, $1.25 between towns and passengers 18 and under are free.

Move More Kids routes are designed to give young people access to a variety of locations that offer healthy activities. The routes also offer public access to shopping centers, worksites, health services, community services and many other programs and services.

The service is open to the general public with no eligibility requirements.

2,223 riders used the service in 2016.
